Master of Ecclesial Theology

Credit Hours:

For those who have completed Emmaus’ BDiv, MAET/TS, MDiv, or an equivalent theological master’s degree, and are interested in a deeper program of research and writing, Emmaus offers a Master of Ecclesial Theology (24 hours). This pathway is academically challenging and is designed to push students to cogently communicate, defend, analyze, and critique the ideas of others as well as their own in conversations with their professor and fellow students towards an ultimate thesis project (50–100 pages). The ThM is a practitioner’s research degree, built around the application of theology in and for the church.


The Emmaus ThM is offered in partnership with the Center for Pastor Theologians.

Dogmatic Theology for the Church (TH 601)

Practical Theology for the Church (PT 601)


Research Practicums:

—Teaching in the Church and Higher Education (MP 603)

or

—Foundational Methods (MP 604)


Thesis Seminars:

—Thesis Reading Seminar (RP 601)
